A LITTLE
ABOUT CINDY
Born in Kansas
and raised in Michigan, Cindy is the oldest sister of two and has
parents who live between Michigan and Florida. She's always found
herself in creative endeavors, from acting in local and regional
theatre, to captivating childhood friends with long-winded
stories, to writing everything from short stories to novels and
screenplays. She won her first writing competition at the age of
ten, with the story, "Jen-Gin", about a two girls who lived on
opposite sides of their mirror.
Cindy has over
20 years experience in advertising, sales and marketing including
middle and upper management, where she went from a junior sales
account executive in radio and rose to become Vice President,
Sales Manager for Blair Television in Los Angeles - an
international media rep firm. During her career she's been
responsible for selling and managing millions of dollars in media
spending for clients such as Ford, GM, Nestle, Disney, Sony and
more.
She brings vast
knowledge in demonstrating & cultivating outstanding
presentation skills: communication excellence, effective public
speaking, and own-the-room sensibility, which means drawing
attention the moment you walk in the room and delivering a "pin
drop" performance.
Cindy attributes
much of her success to a communication and leadership method that
she has developed over the years.
She is also a
professionally trained actress and has studied at length with
artistic giants in the performance field. She continues to be
active in the film and theatre community throughout the Los
Angeles area, most notably with West Coast Ensemble. A natural
born performer, she is an expert at owning a room and considers
coaching others to attain their personal best to be a life-long
passion, "We all have the "IT" factor inside of us, waiting for
permission to come out and shine."
She's on the
Board of Directors for American Women in Radio and Television,
Art & Soul Center of Los Angeles, and was founder and
president of The POWDER Network (Power of Women Developing
Entertainment Resources), a professional networking organization
for women in entertainment that was active in LA for 5 years.
Cindy enjoys traveling, SCUBA diving, golf, hiking, movies,
reading, dining with friends and generally exploring.
OTHER POINTS
OF INTEREST
A former Miss
Indiana, Cindy was a national finalist in the Miss America
Pageant.
Cindy sang the
national anthem on the 20-yard line at the opening of the
Indianapolis Colts Hoosier Dome and forgot the words on national
television as the entire team ran out of the locker room onto the
field.
A huge movie
buff, some of Cindy's favs are: Breakfast at Tiffany's, To Catch
a Thief, Wizard of Oz, Rear Window and the original Willy Wonka
and The Chocolate Factory.
Early role
models were Nancy Drew, Mary Tyler Moore (as Mary Richards),
Barbra Streisand, Diane Sawyer, Mark Twain and Betty Buckley. She
once crash-landed a hot air balloon in the middle of a race, much
to the chagrin of the farmer whose crops were smashed to a
pulp.
